1. Data in the application

WhatWhere it stays
Flight data from the simulator (altitude, airspeed, heading, position …) Only in memory while the application is running. It is neither saved nor transmitted.
Settings (window positions, selected voice, start screen) Local file %APPDATA%\MSFS24FlightHelper\settings.json
Error log in the event of an unexpected error Local file %APPDATA%\MSFS24FlightHelper\fehler.log. It is not sent automatically.
Voice commands via the microphone Processed on the device by the speech recognition built into Windows and compared with a fixed list of commands. Nothing is recorded and nothing is transmitted.
Speech output (Piper voices) Generated locally. The spoken text is briefly stored as an audio file in the temporary folder and deleted after playback.

You can delete these files yourself at any time; the application recreates them when needed.

2. Purchasing a license

Purchases are handled by Polar Software, Inc., 3500 South DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901, USA, which acts as the seller in the legal sense (Merchant of Record). You enter your payment details there, not with us — we never see them. For processing, Polar provides us with your email address and the order number, so that we can deliver your license file and help you with any questions.

This means data is transferred to the USA. Polar's terms apply (polar.sh/legal/privacy). Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract). Retention: as long as necessary for processing and for any statutory retention periods.

3. The license file

Your license file contains your email address, the purchased product, the order number and the purchase date, together with a signature. The application verifies this signature on your computer. Nothing is transmitted in the process, and no internet connection is required. The file is stored in your user profile and can be removed again at any time (Settings → License (Einstellungen → Lizenz)).

4. External connections

The application does not establish any internet connection during operation. There are two exceptions, both triggered by you:

5. This website

The site is operated by a web host in Europe. When the site is accessed, the server processes technically necessary access data (IP address, time, requested file, browser identifier) in order to deliver the site and keep it running securely. No cookies are set, no analytics tools are used and no external fonts or scripts are embedded.

Legal basis under the GDPR for this access data: Art. 6(1)(f) (legitimate interest in the secure operation of the website).

6. Your rights

Under the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP) and – where applicable – the GDPR, you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Since the application itself does not transmit any data to us, these rights in practice only concern the information from a purchase and contact by email. To exercise them, contact support@tausendfreund.me.

Right to lodge a complaint: in Switzerland with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), in the EU with the competent supervisory authority of your place of residence.

7. Changes

This policy will be updated if the application or the legal requirements change. The version published here is authoritative.
